The Final Four
March 26, 2007
After several weeks of intense competition, the Final Four is set. Although there were no major upsets this year, it appears that the games are going to be as good as ever before.
On one side of the bracket the Florida Gators will be facing off against the UCLA Bruins. This is a repeat of last year’s title game, and is sure to be a great one. The Bruins will try to slow down the Gators offense by working the shot clock and playing hard nosed defense. They have been successful in doing so the last couple of rounds and it will be interesting to see if they can exert their will on the Gators.
On the other side, the Georgetown Hoyas will be squaring off against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Both of these teams struggled mightily to make the Final Four, but how they got their does not matter at this point. Much like the other semifinal, the Hoyas will be trying to slow the game down while the Buckeyes will want to get up and down the floor.
As you can see, both games offer a battle of conflicting styles. The bottom line is that whatever team forces the other to play their game will come out on top.
Although many thought that this would be the year of the underdog, things did not work out that way. Florida and Ohio State are both 1 seeds, and UCLA and Georgetown 2’s. But at this point seeds don’t matter. It is all about winning two games to have the right to be called National Champions.
