Kobe Bryant: On a Tear
Since the day that Kobe Bryant came into the NBA it was obvious that he was going to be a special player. And over the course of his career he has done some things that will always be remembered as well as some that he would much rather forget.
His latest feat came when he scored 50 points or more in four straight games. Along with Wilt Chamberlain, Bryant is the only other player to accomplish this feat. That is right, not even the great Michael Jordan ever put on a display like this.
But maybe more importantly, Bryant is beginning to lift the Lakers to new heights. No, they are not among the elite teams in the Western Conference, but they are not going to be an easy out when playoff time rolls around.
Right now, the Lakers are in 6th place in the Western Conference, and if the season ended today they would square off against the San Antonio Spurs in the first round. Over the past couple of years these two teams have played some great games, and it is safe to say that Bryant would like to get revenge for past losses.
As long as Bryant is healthy, the Lakers will have a chance to make some noise in the BA playoffs. It remains to be seen if he can carry the team to the title, but if anybody in the league is capable, it is most definitely Kobe Bryant. He showed everybody that this was the case when he put up 50 or more in four games in a row!
