A Socialite in the making: Cognac
April 3, 2007
Several weeks ago I had the pleasure to speak with Cognac of Cognac’s Corner of New York Public Access Television channel 67. Of this experience, I will never forget her spirit and belief in herself as a celebrity. This is a woman who has literally created a celebrity status simply out of her own mindset.

Remember the old Kevin Costner film, Field of Dreams? The phrase, “If you build it, he will come” repeats in my mind as “If you believe it, it will come!” I truly think that a person can make almost anything happen in their life if they believe in it, hold onto it and share their belief with as many people as will listen to them.
Socialites and stars are created usually by a choice few people that decide that somebody should be a star… and miraculously from that point on a star is born. If a few people have that much power over the destiny we hold, imagine what one person can do if they put their heart and soul into their passion, roll it into a cable sized ball and zap it through to thousands of television viewers.
This is where Cognac’s dream was first born and she is growing in popularity with leaps and bounds. Her potential would seem to be almost limitless. She has been on Maury Povich, VH1, an Off-Broadway play and has recently been bumped up to a prime-time slot 3:30 with her show.
What does all this have to do with you my friends?
Keep dreaming and never stop. But take it one step farther and actually move towards your dreams and believe in them. Tell people about your dreams, even if they think they are silly and chastise you for them. It is the people who actually listen to all the people who are always telling them they can’t, that never will! The others live a life of surprising people as they conquer everything that would have seemed impossible.
But it is not impossible… as long as your mind does not believe it to be!
