Interview with Goatwhore’s Ben Falgoust (Part 1)
May 1, 2007
Goatwhore has really been making a name for themselves this past year while living on tour. “You got to stay in peoples faces,” says Ben Falgoust on lead vocals. “Be on tour as much as you can… its easy to be forgotten if you’re not constantly reminding people.”
With the style of Goatwhore, I would dare say that they are anything but easily forgotten… but that is the style of most any black metal band!
I had the opportunity to speak with Ben about their most recent album, A Haunting Curse and their upcoming European tour:

Ben surprisingly loves to be on the road and does not mind being away from home for months on end. This is a good thing, as this coming May 10th the band will be taking off for for their very first European tour. They will be in Germany, Holland, Italy, France, Austria and Belgium.
Besides Ben as lead vocals, the band consists of Sammy Duet on guitar and vocal, Nathan Bergeron on bass and vocal, and Zack Simmons on the drums. Together they create an unforgettable stage presence that fans know is all about keeping it real and upholding the tradition of such bands as Slayer, Venom, Bathory and Celtic Frost.
Of course when you’re talking about black metal it is hard to use that with the same words as “tradition,” since the entire formulation is based on breaking tradition.
But what is the tradition of Goatwhore?
“Chaotic… in your face… extreme… fast beats… slow beats… practiced well… really good live performances,” says Ben emphatically (to be continued)…
