Should Nudity be Legalized in India?
July 25, 2007
As seen through the purple plaid polyester lenses of the female Indian Diaspora, the answers to whether nudity should be legalized in India were thought to be split 50/50.

However, various surveys distributed by DesiTabloid.com, suggested that 68% of woman from the age of 18 to 24, agree with the need for freedom of nudity in India. But, upon posting several photos featuring middle-aged, out of shape, pot-bellied Indian men; 50 percent of those changed their mind!
In conclusion to this survey: As a collected group; only 34 percent of Indian women agree to the legalization of nudity. The remaining 66 percent were noted as voicing an intense sense of shame to the naked body.
“What is the big deal?” One particular Desi female exclaimed online once the final results were unveiled. “Whenever visiting India, I notice nude pot-bellies on the roadsides. We need to express ourselves, and being a democratic society; it is our right.”
After reading this young woman’s insights, I began to agree. I imagined those who cannot afford the luxuries of cinema tickets and magazine subscriptions as needing a little sprinkle of zest in their lives. And what better zest can be found, than that zest right in your neighbor’s back yard?
