Bonds Hits #756
August 8, 2007
Barry Bonds is the new home run king. Last night in San Francisco, Bonds hit #756 against the Washington Nationals’ Mike Bacsik. The blast went a total of 435 feet, and landed over the wall in right center field. As expected, a mob of people then began to fight for the ball that is sure to fetch a pretty penny at auction.
Hank Aaron held the home run record for 33 years, and seemed fine with handing over the reigns. Aaron congratulated Bonds via the video board immediately following the record breaking home run.
But with all of this being said, is the record legit? This is what everybody wants to know. The consensus is that Bonds took steroids in the past, which obviously aided in his pursuit of the record. After the game, he responded, “This record is not tainted at all. At all. Period.”
Unfortunately for Bonds, he is not the only one that matters. The fact of the matter is that most fans feel that he is a cheater, and still hope that the truth comes out sooner rather than later.
For now, Bonds is the home run king; despite the fact that he may have taken performance enhancing drugs in the past. Hopefully Bonds can finally go away, and the rest of the world can begin concentrating on the entire league instead of one player.
