More Problems for Vick
August 17, 2007
When Michael Vick was setting up dog fights with his “friends” he probably thought they would be their through thick and thin. But guess what? This is not the way that things are shaking out. If Vick has to go to trial, all three of his alleged accomplices are prepared testify against him. As you can imagine, this will go a long way in hurting Vick’s chances of getting off easy.
One defendant already changed his plea from innocent to guilty. The other two are expected to enter plea agreements so that they can get off with a lesser punishment.
The offenses that these four are being charged with are punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 as well as up to five years behind bars. While the upper end of these may be extreme, it is safe to say that Vick is in deep water.
Believe it or not, if Vick is convicted, there is a good chance that he will be banned from the NFL forever. He has already been banned from training camp by Commissioner Roger Goodell, and it is safe to say that he will not be taking the field during the 2007 season.
Many people feel that Vick is unaware of the seriousness of this situation. But one thing is for sure. If he is not aware of the issues at hand now, he will be when all of his so-called friends turn on him in the near future.
