Yankees are Moving on up
August 20, 2007
The New York Yankees are one team that baseball fans always keep an eye on. After all, they are the most dominating franchise of all time. Early this season it appeared that the Yanks were going to miss the playoffs, but since then, they have picked up some steam.
With 38 games left to be played, the Yankees are only four games behind the Boston Red Sox in the American League East Division. This is a far cry from the double digit deficit that they were facing earlier this season.
The Yankees have won 7 of their last 10 games, and three in a row. If they can keep up this pace, while also hoping that the Red Sox lose a few more, it is safe to say that the division will be wide open going down the stretch.
With so much fire power in their lineup, there is no wondering that the Yankees are making so much noise. From top to bottom, the Yankees have one of the best hitting lineups in the game.
Perhaps the biggest series for the Yankees down the stretch will be August 28-30 when they host the Red Sox. If they can win this series at home, while staying steady in the meantime, the Yankees will find themselves in great shape.
All in all, the playoffs are sure to be much more exciting when the Yankees are involved. And with the way that they are playing now, this is more than likely to happen!
