Some surprising news crashed headlines this morning as Owen Wilson was carted outside his home on a stretcher. Fans of all ages were surprised to discover that it appears that the star actually attempted to take his own life today.

The information was very cautious on what to say, but it became clear later in the morning that he not only slashed his wrists, but also ingested a handful of pills. There hasn’t been too much word on his condition so far today, but we can assume that he is probably is stable, albeit critical condition.

Every so often us humble fans get a dose of reality that fame, glory and money are not always everything that we think it is cracked up to be. Marilyn Monroe, James Dean… what could be so bad that these people would think that they have no other way out, but the finality of death.

Owen Wilson, 38, young, talented, successful and quite happy and stable from recent interviews. We may never know the truth of this incident, as his PR machine is tirelessly preparing to face his fans with a slew of answers and explanation that will keep Owen in a positive light throughout this ordeal.

All I can say, is nothing is worth taking your own life. We all know that life can be very trying at times and leave us with little hope of a future, but if you hang in there, a solution or reason to guide your life will eventually surface.

I always look to the story of Christopher Reeve, “Superman,” to understand how pain, triumph, happiness and sadness is a part of our growth. Sometimes to find happiness we have to build from our sadness.
