College Football Opening Night Winners

August 31, 2007

The first night of the 2007 college football season is over. Although there were no surprises, it was still a great night for fans all over the world.

The most anticipated game of the evening was most definitely LSU vs. Mississippi State. The college football world was wondering if LSU was as good as their number two ranking. And if last night was any indicator, the answer is yes. The Tigers pounced on the Bulldogs from the word go, and kept this up the entire game. They won easily by a score of 45-0. Although the Tigers were impressive on offense, it was their defense that has everybody talking this morning at the water cooler. Not only did they shut out the Bulldogs, but they did this with the help of six interceptions.

The other three ranked teams who played last night all came away with victories as well. Rutgers beat Buffalo 38-3, Louisville toppled Murray State 73-10, and Boise State handled Weber State easily by a score of 56-7.

Even though opening night went as expected, do not expect Saturday to go the same way. After all, there are always a couple of upsets each weekend. Is your team going to start 2007 with a bang? Or are they going to be a bust from game one? You will know the answer by Saturday night at the latest!
