September 19, 2007
Yes! It be International Talk Like A Pirate Day at last! Th’ best day-a-th’ year fer us ta imitate our favorite romanticized high-seas villains, vocally-like. Celebrate by downloadin’ yerself a copy o’ Summers, Baur, an’ Cooke’s A Li’l Pirate’s ABSeas to read aloud at bedtime to yer wee pirates-in-trainin’! Ye need only part with $9.50 of yer hard-won pillage for it. What are ye waitin’ fer? Get–
*deep breath*
I’m sorry, I just can’t keep this up for an entire post. You know what my favorite day is? International Talk Like A Ninja Day. You know why? Because ninjas are silent.
But back to ITLAPD. Here’s my boggle: Why are there no official festivities on Puzzle Pirates to celebrate? This is insane. September 17: Compete to provide one of the players with a new forum avatar. September 18: Write poems to insult each others’ flags (flags represent an alliance between crews). September 21: Give your pirate a back story and win prizes for creativity. What date is missing from that roster? September 19. Absent. Macavity’s not there. There’s just a couple of forum posts going nowhere, and that’s about it.
Shame.
On the other hand, when you’re playing Puzzle Pirates, you’re supposed to talk like a pirate all the time. So maybe an ITLAPD event would be redundant.
Meanwhile, I have not yet heard that an actual International Talk Like A Ninja Day has been declared. But when it has, and the day comes, you’ll know. That’ll be the day I don’t post a thing. Sshhhh…

Arrrrrrrr! The ITLAN day was yesterday. You just never heard of it, me hearty. It be, like all ninjas, difficult to spot.
But no worries! There be next year. Until then… avast!

My suspicion is that ITLAN Day moves around. Silently. Without warning. And, silent and without warning, it STRIKES!
So who knows what day it’ll be on next year? We certainly won’t. Not until it’s TOO LATE!
