Save Nyla…

The world is not always an easy place to live and sometimes we all have the tendency to turn our heads to suffering simply because we feel that we have no power over a situation.

Thankfully not everybody feels that way and sometimes a person can make a big difference in a life when they refuse to believe this.

Burnzpost has touch upon illness in this blog a couple of times, but today I want to discuss it in the form of man/woman’s best friend. Nyla has been in the hands of Pet Photographer, Wendy Doscher-Smith, for about two months now.

Nyla was rescued from neglectful neighbors who confined her to a small backyard without proper shelter or medical attention. Wendy talked the neighbor into letting her care for Nyla and took her into her home permanently.

Wendy was determined to bring companionship and happiness to a dog who obviously knew very little about such things.

The years of neglect have left her with underdeveloped musculature, infections and heart worm, but slowly Nyla began to experience happiness. “Nyla began to enjoy life with us and our three other dogs, two of which are rescues.” says Wendy. “At first she was shy to come in the house, and it seemed like she thought she was imposing—she seemed to not even know what basic dog things were—she didn’t understand what to do with toys, but… now there are a score of them littered around the house.”

Nyla has recently become very sick and Wendy is doing what she can to find out what is wrong. “All I want is to give this dog a chance at a good life,” says Wendy. “She has the best spirit and everyone who meets her or even sees her in pictures says so—she is truly a special dog and deserves to make it through this—she has the temperament and potential to become a therapy dog.”

Wendy is currently selling her unique pet photographs and donating the proceed to Nyla to help pay for her vet bills. You can read more about this heart warming story here.

Get well Nyla, we here at Burnzpost wish you a quick recovery and a second chance at life… the way it’s supposed to be!
