Day One of the MLB Playoffs

After waiting through 162 regular season games, day one of the MLB playoffs finally arrived yesterday. And just as many expected, all three games were well worth watching. In fact, there was not a dull moment in any of them. If this is a sign of things to come in the MLB postseason, it is safe to say that this will be one of the best ever.

Starting out in the National League, the Colorado Rockies beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 4-2. This was the Rockies 15th win in their last 16 games. If the Phillies are going to get back on track, they are going to have to find a way to generate more runs as the series wears on.

The other National League game played on day one of the playoffs took place between the Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks came away with a 3-1 victory on their home field. Winning game on at home is a great way to get into position to win the series.

The only American League series of the day was the Boston Red Sox vs. the Los Angeles Angels. As many expected, the Red Sox blanked the Angels 4-0. With a home victory under their belt, the Red Sox definitely have the advantage moving forward.

Day one of the MLB playoff was packed full of fun. Just think; there are many more weeks to go until a champion is crowned!
