Hot NFL Quarterbacks
In the NFL, the teams with the best quarterbacks seem to go the furthest. After all, the quarterback is the guy who touches the ball on every offensive play. Last week, there were several quarterbacks who really stepped up their play.
Once again, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots led his team to victory through the air. He passed for 265 yards, while also chipping in three touchdowns. As you can imagine, if Brady keeps this up for the rest of the season the Patriots are going to be hard to beat.
Even though the St. Louis Rams got beat, backup quarterback Gus Frerotte did a great job under center. He passed for three touchdowns to go along with 262 yards. Is there going to be a quarterback controversy in St. Louis when Marc Bulger returns to the lineup from a rib injury?
Finally, Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers finally has his team back on track. Before the season, many experts felt that the Chargers would compete for a Super Bowl. While they have gotten off to a slow start, Rivers is looking to change things. He started doing this last week by passing for 270 yards and two touchdowns.
It goes without saying that the quarterback is the most important piece of an NFL offense. The three guys above played exceptionally well last week, and will be looking to do the same in the games to come.
