College Football National Championship Race
Before the college football season started there were some teams that were clear cut favorites to win the National Championship. Well guess what? A lot of this has changed after the first six weeks of the season. Some teams are still hanging around, but as always, others have dropped off the face of the earth.
LSU is a clear cut favorite to land in the National Championship game. They have yet to lose a game, and despite playing poorly at times, they knocked off the defending champion Florida Gators in come from behind fashion last week.
Sitting in second place in the rankings, and also undefeated, are the California Golden Bears. They have been flying under the radar a bit, but definitely have a good chance at an undefeated season.
Ohio State, Boston College, and South Florida make up the rest of the top five. Again, all three of these teams are undefeated as well.
As you can see, there is no USC or Florida in this bunch of contenders. At this time of the season, only the teams that have yet to lose are holding down a top five ranking.
With all of that being said, there is still a lot of football yet to be played. Even though things look semi-clear right now, this is not going to hold true for much longer. Some of the currently undefeated teams will lose, and others with one loss will get back into the race. It should be a great second half to the college football season.
