The World Series is closing in

October 17, 2007

Baseball fans everywhere wait all year for the MLB playoffs to roll around. And just when this happens, the games seem to fly by in no time at all. This is especially true this year thanks to several teams breezing through the postseason.

First off, let’s take a look at the National League. The Colorado Rockies have been on a tear for the last 20 games or so, and this is evident by the 4-0 sweep that they just completed of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Are the Rockies going to be able to carry this hot streak into the Fall Classic? Maybe, maybe not. But one thing is for sure; betting against them at this time is not a good idea.

On the other side of the league, the Cleveland Indians have taken a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Boston Red Sox. After suffering a game one loss, the Tribe has run off three straight victories. Last night, they defeated the Red Sox 7-3. With one game left at home before heading back to Boston, it is safe to say that the Indians would love to end the series.

No matter which American League team reaches the World Series, there is no doubting that it will be one to remember. The Rockies are playing their best baseball of the season, and the Indians and Red Sox look solid as well. Only time will tell who comes out on top. For us baseball fans, a few more games is all we are asking for!
