While her formal education is in Latin American Literature and Anthropology, her real studies have taken place on the street, namely the streets of Mexico. She’s lived on boats, in the mountains, on the plains and by the sea, which has made her the restless spirit that she is.

She studied at New College of Florida but sought obscurity and adventure, so she headed to a small, college town in the mountains of northern New Mexico. She lasted about two years before her legs started itching to move on. That’s when she hightailed it to Old Mexico and found herself in Xalapa, Veracruz.

Here she found funding and began conducting ethnographic research on a community of Gypsies. That work, like many others, is a work in progress.

Kristina grew up celebrating the change of the seasons and the rhythms of nature. Her spirituality is within and ever changing. She does not limit herself to only one belief system, but rather humbly embraces the lessons that are presented to her, whatever their religious origin.

Her interests include dancing, traveling, reading, writing and mothering. She throws herself whole-heartedly into every one of these activities.
