NFL Roundup
October 29th, 2007Week eight of the NFL season was a spectacular one. At the halfway point, there are already a couple of teams that have pretty much clinched a playoff spot. Additionally, there are others that have played themselves into a dangerous position.
There is no denying that the New England Patriots are the best team in the league. With a record of 8-0, they are blowing by every team that they play. Their latest victim was the Washington Redskins. This game was over from the start, and when the final horn rang the Pats had won 52-7.
Of course, you never want to forget about the defending champions. This time around, that team is the Indianapolis Colts. They are also undefeated, and continued their streak of wins with a 31-7 drumming of the Carolina Panthers. Next week, the Colts take on the Patriots. After this game, there will be no questioning which team is best in the NFL up to this point.
In other games, Pittsburgh narrowly defeated Cincinnati, New York Giants beat Miami, and San Diego rolled over Houston.
An NFL fan could not have dreamt for a more exciting start to the 2007 season. Not only are there many teams playing great football, but the individual performances are just as exciting. Of course, by the time the season ends everything could be different. But for now, it is pretty obvious which teams have the best chance of winning the Super Bowl.
